More Young People Are Experiencing Disk Hernia Every DayDisk Hernia is a common health problem characterized by back pain from a slipped disk. It can be seen as early as age of 21.

The disks are protective shock-absorbing pads between the bones of the spine. Although they do not actually "slip", a disk may split or rupture. This can cause the disk to fail, allowing the gel to escape into the surrounding tissue. The leaking jellylike substance can place pressure on the spinal cord or on a single nerve fiber and cause pain either around the damaged disk or anywhere along the area controlled by that nerve. This condition is also known as a herniated, ruptured, prolapsed, or slipped disk.
As people start aging, factors that lead to injury from a slipped disk include a loss of elasticity of the discs and supporting structures; improper lifting, especially if accompanied by twisting or turning and excessive strain. Slipped disk and any other back problem is an outcome of improper habits of bending. In addition, any accident that might have caused direct or indirect pressure on the spinal cords, improper lifting, frequent and improper turning and twisting of back causing high pressure and strain on the spines etc. can cause a slipped disk. Some other main factors of a slipped disk are aging, obesity, sitting, standing or driving too much.
